The ST-5 Venturi seat for flashing service promotes controlled expansion of vapor, which reduces the velocity at the valve outlet to acceptable limits, while avoiding turbulent flow.
ST-5 Venturi seats are used exclusively in angle-body valves so the discharge from the trim is directed toward the valve outlet with no change in flow direction.
Typically, materials used are 400-Series Stainless Steels hardened with CVD-5B, which offer the hardest and best resistance to both the flashing and any abrasives that may be present in the process.
